The Basin Transit Association is a public transportation system, serving the Uintah Basin since 2011. The primary purposes for this service is to provide citizens of the Uintah Basin opportunities to commute to work, school, and reaching shopping centers in the region. Service is available to all citizens in the Uintah Basin. Routes include travel from Duchesne to Roosevelt, Roosevelt to Vernal, and around the city of Vernal.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Service and Holidays
BTA buses run Monday through Friday year round.  
The buses do not run on the following days: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial  Day, Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day, Pioneer Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day,Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 

BTA only accommodates for service animals. No other animals are permitted.

Fares and Passes 
You can pay your fare by simply dropping the exact change in the farebox. Exact fare required. Drivers cannot make change. You can also pay by showing the driver your pre-paid pass. 
Monthly passes and schedules are available at the following locations: Vernal and Roosevelt Davis Jubilee, Vernal Chamber of Commerce, Uintah Basin Medical Center, Stewart's Marketplace and Duchesne County Building.

Regular...............................................................$1.00 one way (SUSPENDED)
All Day Pass........................................................$3.00 (SUSPENDED)
Monthly Unlimited Fixed-Route Passes ......................$30.00 (SUSPENDED)
Children 6 and older must pay regular rate (SUSPENDED)
Children under 6 ride free 
Children 10 and older are permitted to ride without adult supervision
Discount: 50% Discount for seniors (65+), person with a qualifying disability, or  employees/students organizations/businesses contributing $10,000 >   annually to the transit system.  Discount does not apply to Call-A-Ride services . 
Call-A-Ride Paratransit Services.................$2.00 one way (passes not accepted on Call-A-Ride services)

How to Use the Schedules

Route 1 (Green Route) starts in Vernal then goes to Roosevelt and then back to Vernal. 

Route 2 (Blue Route) starts in Roosevelt and then goes to Duchesne and then back to Roosevelt.

Route 3 (Red Route) stays in Vernal and makes a circular throughout the community.


Services for Persons with Disabilities
All BTA buses are wheelchair accessible. Persons with disabilities, whether physical  or cognitive, may ride the fixed-route service if they are able to get to and from the bus stops. 
Individuals who are ADA eligible and are unable to get to and from the bus stops may schedule rides on our special curb-to-curb service by calling 24 hours in advance. This special service costs $2.00 per person per one-way trip. This service will be provided to locations that are within 3/4 mile of a non-commuter fixed-route stop.
